Taking into consideration of the need and desire of the people of this hilly, far flung and educationally backward district and with the sincere and visionary efforts of college administration, Mauhalana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad which came to an existence by an Act of Parliament on 19th of January,1998 and is a Urdu Medium Central University recognized by University Grants Commission ,Association of Indian Universities and Distance Education Council(DEC) of India , granted permission for setting up its Study Centre-100 in Govt.Degree College, Poonch on 12-05-2005. Urdu, being an official and literally rich language it is loved and desired by international community in general and the people of this area in particular and with the establishment of MANUU Study Centers in the country like in this institution the learners are not only brushing their career but also enriching themselves with the latest development in the subject. Like other centers all the courses of Mauhalna Azad National Urdu Uiversity,Hyderabad at undergraduate level through its Distance mode are offered by this Centre also.Besides,post graduate courses in Urdu, History and English offered by this university are also authorized to this centre. One special course has been designed for drop-outs for which they do not need any formal qualification. They have to appear in an eligibility Test and after qualifying it they can be eligible to seek admission in B.A/B. Sc/B.Com.The only requirement for this test is that the candidate should not be less that 18 years of age. As the Centre works under rules and regulations and guidance of Mauhalna Azad National Urdu Uiversity, Hyderabad and under the control of MANUU Regional centre, Jammu, the centre follows all the directions of the higher authorities with the consultation of college administration and examinations are being conducted by the College authorities.
